Privacy Policy
Duet, a product of New Growth Investments LLC. Last updated: June 18, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how New Growth Investments LLC ("Duet," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Duet application and website at try-duet.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information needed to operate the Service:
- Account information — your name, email address, and an encrypted password, used to create and secure your account.
- Information you enter — accounts, balances, and notes you choose to add.
- Financial account data (with your permission) — if you connect a bank, we use Plaid Inc. to securely access information such as account names, balances, and transactions. Your bank login credentials are entered directly with Plaid and are never seen or stored by Duet.
- Technical information — basic device and usage information required to operate and secure the Service.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To display your accounts, balances, scores, and personalized guidance.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To communicate with you about the Service.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us operate the Service, including Plaid (bank connectivity), Supabase (authentication and data storage), and Cloudflare (hosting), each bound to protect your data.
- Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
Data security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, secured authentication, and access controls. Sensitive credentials (such as bank-connection tokens) are stored server-side and are never exposed in the app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may delete your account at any time, after which we delete or de-identify your personal information except where retention is legally required.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete your information by contacting us.
- Disconnect a linked bank at any time, which revokes our access through Plaid.
- Close your account at any time.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
